Not only is Wakaflex the most versatile and durable flashing solution, but it is also the easiest to install safely.

Self-welding technology
This is because it has self-welding technology, which means when Wakaflex overlaps on itself it instantly becomes homogeneous. This bond makes it immediately water-tight and impossible to separate.
This secure connection can also have a cost-saving benefit as when using Wakaflex on longer runs, only small overlaps are required. Versus other flashings, which don’t self-weld and instead rely on a butyl connection, which means larger overlaps are required. As a consequence more material needs to be used to ensure it becomes water-tight.
Additionally, flashing alternatives which use a butyl based connection instead of self-weld, tend to have a shorter life expectancy as they can more easily degrade over time under tension and temperature.
Butyl strips
Wakaflex has 2 butyl adhesive strips for bonding to the surface, which is protected by perforated release paper. This makes it a lot easier to position and adjust Wakaflex, particularly in complex areas, versus other products, which use a full butyl backing and make it difficult to adjust once adhered to the surface.
The 2 butyl strips provide a highly secure connection, which also prevents wind uplift and has been tested and approved for winds up to 183km/h when installed alongside out M-Glue.
As a result this means Wakaflex can be safely installed by hand, without the need for heat, specialist tools or training and for added convenience can even be applied in wet weather conditions when installed alongside M-Glue.
Competitor example with full butyl connection, that can detach under tension and temperature as the butyl softens:
Two layers of Wakaflex self-weld to become a homogeneous compound that is impossible to separate:
